The object of Artstalk is to augment the diminishing coverage of literature and the arts in the Irish broadcast media. Internet broadcasting has significant advantages over radio and television; there is no practical time limit on the files we can upload, so we don't have to cut off interviewees when the clock is against us. A lot of artscoverage has been cut in recent years. The wonderful RTE radio arts review, Rattlebag, has gone. BBC coverage is tilting towards youth interests and celebrity. We can't cover everything here, but we will give you occasional reports, interviews and reviews which we guarantee will be interesting, topical and considered.
